The Dice That Split Tomorrow

A story by Sonny Lanning

Leo Bell thought he'd finally got used to having two talking, future-predicting dice. Then Seven grew eight sides and developed a rather alarming new trick: showing moving pictures of what might happen next.

During a family trip to an old steam railway, Seven reveals two possible futures. In one, Leo's best friend Cleo disappears. In the other, it's his seven-year-old sister Ivy.

Leo is determined to prevent either outcome. Unfortunately, Cleo has engineering exhibits to investigate, Ivy has a picture trail to complete, and neither appreciates Leo trying to organise their every move.

But when old photographs, forgotten railway plans and a mysterious passage begin pointing towards a hidden danger, Leo realises that the dice might not be showing him the whole story.

With time running out and trouble building beneath the railway, can three children uncover a third possibility that Seven hasn't predicted?

A funny, suspenseful science-fiction adventure about friendship, family and discovering that the future isn't always what it seems.
